Check your linkage. It is common for the linkage to get out of the correct position and cause it to grind or not engage at all. That's what I would check for sure. Try putting it into different positions and see if it engages better

So my moms 2000 Ford Windstar took a dump and we're selling it to the junkyard. Can I salvage anything from it for my 89 XJ? Preferable direct swaps. Thanks guys

Nothing I know is a direct swap but if the rims and tires are good I would throw them up on Craigslist or throw the whole van up there for 500

My dads selling it to the junkyard, probably will get between $400 and $500. A rod snapped and the engine is just done (has 200000+ miles). But yeah I might take the rims/tires

My rear hatch would never stay open so I swapped out a shock from the van and its almost a direct swap

i would think outside the box here.

take all vac hoses, fuses, hell fuse panel. speakers. anything like that.

Friday had my first playday in the snow, was amazing!!!! Drag raced a subby outback wagon, put bus-lengths on him! And then did it again in 2WD! Drifts quite gracefully especially when being chased through a parking lot by a bucket loader with a 15 foot wide plow!
