CB is up to you, couldn't hurt to have one though FRS would be faster and cheaper to get... we will be using the FRS radios also

I have Verizon and i get a signal up there, a friend of mine has sprint and he was fine when we were there in may...

I visited Centralia this past weekend I was amazed about the story and the area. It is a very cool place to visit and it is a complete shame of what happened there during the coal fire.

I would like to come back up and explore some of the area some more. I am in the middle of putting a lift kit on my jeep at the moment and if I can finish it up this week I will def try to make the trip. I only have cell phone but could probably pick up something else for this trip.

Could you please give an idea on the trails on the trip? I did not visit with my jeep so I could only walk on some of the trails but it does look like Dirtbikes and ATV's run the show up there.

I heard that centralia and shamokin, which isnt too far from there has a lot of open areas of land that you can wheel on. I am assuming from back in the big coal mining days. Anyone have any idea where you can go leagally up there?

well as far as centralia goes, there is nothing i have found that says its not legal, so i would say that, that it is all legal, however you have to be aware of where your at so you dont stray onto posted or private land.

That is kinda what I was thinking was the case. There is a toyoto group that has posted some pretty cool pics from the area. It looked like there was some pretty decent hill climbs and some mud.

Post some pics when you guys get back. Do you ever use GPS?
