Hey bigbuk, do you have any clearance issues with 33's or did you trim the fenders? Since I have to save up a good amount, I'm now thinkin I want a 6 inch kit with 33's instead of the 4.5 with 31's. By then I'll most likely have another car to drive around so I can give my jeep some much needed tlc. Some stuff that just can't be done in a weekend without cutting it real close.

I now have another question:
Any good places to wheel that aren't too far away? I know of the whole 8th street ordeal, but people say it really isn't all that great. Maybe we can plan a little wheeling adventure one day to meet up. Somewhere relatively local, since my jeep isn't highway worthy yet (death wobble).

I've only ever been back 8th Street and a few quarrys up north by Broadheadsville. 8th Street is point-to-point (4 miles one-way); a huge tree blocks the final 2 or 3 miles so you have to turn around at that point. The quarrys were great for wheeling but I kinda had the "in" on those trips because my buddy's family owned the land. I know of a place near Minsi that's all mud but because I don't do mud I've never gone. Any other places I know of are private property so that's a no-go decision I make on moral grounds.

I'd love to find some more local spots.

On a side note, SHE'S FINALLY LIFTED!

you can do 33's with 6"s with no trimming, but any real flex is gonna rub

Looks good, I remeber when mine was clean like that lol, as for 8th street, you can get all the way back again, but someone built a house right at the end, so you can go back onto the main rd anymore that way you gotta turn around and go all the way back

Once I get everything done on mine, I wanna try to get up to Rausch Creek, I went 4 times when I had my wrangler, and 1 with the cherokee, and its well worth the money, you can ride all day, never hit the same trail, burn through a 1/2 tank of gas and only travel 20 miles while doing it, it only takes a little over an hour to get there.

DeadCell, lookin good man! If you ever decide to get a little muddy, I'd like to check out that place by minsi. If you can talk to your buddy's family, it would be cool to get in on some quarries too if you want. As far as private property, I'm on the same page with you. It's just not right to go on someone's land without permission. Especially in a 4 wheel drive. I explored basically every area within 5 miles of my house on my dirtbike, but I also leave no trace of being there. I went on google maps just to have a little look of possible areas to wheel, but I didn't really see anything too good. But I did come across a private motocross track off of franklin hill road

bigbuk, I might do a little trimming if I decide on a bigger tire. My dad just doesn't like the idea of me cutting up the fenders, and I still live under his roof so I kinda have no choice in that matter. haha. Other stuff he's cool with, just not anything that affects the body in a major way. I'd like to take a trip up to Rausch Creek to see how it is. I've heard a lot about it actually. Especially in the jeep world. How much does it cost to go up there?

To both of you guys, I know a guy that lives off of 8th street, so we might be able to go back there without any trouble from the local popo. I remember taking a ride back there years ago to go to his house because he's a family friend. I remember taking a back way that was awesome for wheeling. We drove over trees, in big mud puddles, over rocks, all that good stuff. We did end up getting yelled at though, haha. Now that I can drive, I want to take my jeep back there again and see if I remember anything.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

I'm all for a Rausch trip. I've wanted to go for the longest time but figured it kind of pointless on a stock rig. Even still, it'll be a blast trying to play "keep up" with BigBuk. Lol

you would be suprised what a stock jeep can do. and as far as your death wobble if you wanna make a run down here to northampton we can get it up on the jackstands and see whats up. Its more than likely your trac bar is loose or needs new bushings I had it bad for a while couldnt go over 40 mph and hit a bump without the front end feeling like its gonna fall off.

Its about 60 bucks the first time you go and that covers your year long membership, and the fee for going on the new property.

I just replaced my trac bar and I checked over everything to make sure nothing is bent or loose. The only things I need are the sway bar/end link bushings. I get death wobble because I have basically no wheel weights left on one tire cuz they all fell off, and I need an alignment. If I have the steering wheel straight, the right side tire points outward about 2 inches. Seems like a lot, but it's not really that bad. Just affects me at 55mph or so. I can do 55, but not for very long cuz I start gettin freaked out a little. I'm gonna take it down to OK 4 Wheel drive in Jersey cuz my buddy works there. I'm gonna have him do the alignment and wheel weights. That's if I ever get the money in time for it. He's goin off to college in August, so I gotta save up fast. And 60 bucks isn't too bad for a year pass at Rausch Creek. It'll probably be real good up there during the fall.
