However, I have had an issue with a clicking sound when turning the steering wheel back and forth when stopped or at low speeds. There is a bit of play where my track bar attaches to the frame, but could this really be the culprit of a clicking sound that I can feel through the steering wheel and echoes through the entire engine compartment?
And I did try searching this, and unfortunately this forum compiled all of the technical questions into a single thread, so you cannot search properly.
It may be a crack in the track bar mount. You said clicking. I have a popping. Not sure if its the same noise we have but different descriptions lol. Also could be a crack around the steering box mountOriginally Posted by ChiefAcorn
My friend bought a boat a week ago, and I had to pick it up using the Cherokee. (His Wrangler is not very comfortable) So we drove from Altamonte to Inverness, which is quite a haul. It decided it was going to overheat on the way there. Popped the hood, waited 15 minutes, started it it up, and went to the next exit with no problem. I had plenty of coolant, and I have LeBaron hood vents right above the motor. But I stopped and did the step off mod using washers to space out the hood from the brackets. I also pulled off the rubber seal on the back to give it the best chance of air escaping. That solved the problem, no more issues there or back. However, I have had an issue with a clicking sound when turning the steering wheel back and forth when stopped or at low speeds. You said it clicks while stopped or at low speeds. Crawl under your rig and have someone turn the wheel back and forth. My rig had a popping sound and we figured out it was the pitman arm binding up. Good luck!

I didn't even think of that one. I was going to do it black. Imma play with Photoshop and see how it looks
In fact, I would paint the bumper tan and the stinger/brushguard black. Your jeep will continue to look great.Originally Posted by moesizlak07

A while back I tried that, unfortunately, when it clicked or popped or whatever, it seems to echo and vibrate the entire front end and make it quite difficult to pinpoint, but I also had no idea of where the problem areas might be. I will grab hold of the pitman arm (it is a drop pitman arm, and the tie rod ends feel nice and tight, with minimal play) and the track bar mount and see if I can feel it specifically in one or the other. If it is the track bar mount, has anyone had any luck with the adjustable track bar with the mount that Rough Country sells for $130? Clicky Clicky I have the Rough Country 4.5" lift, so it will work, however I don't know if that mount will replace the existing mount or mount directly to it.

I'm piecing my lift together. I purchased the rc adj track bar. I hope its good! Lol it does come with a new mount to replace the old. Seems heavy duty in my opinion. Can provide you with a solid answer since I haven't installed it yetOriginally Posted by ChiefAcorn
