Because since it's longer it pushes the mount about 1 1/2" back so the crossmember doesn't sit in its factory location....said pic

But a bit of research got me to this thread that was made in an 4cyl xj

http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=956031

And he made a bracket that was held into transmission mount and crossmember together in which I'm in the process in doing...
I'm going to tag 6 mounting holes 4 for the mount and 2 for the extra holes in the crossmember not being used

Good afternoon everybody.

I HATE drum brakes!
I just did mine, and I am convinced that a disc brake conversion is in my future plans now. That and new leafs as well. I got a good look at how the PO did the bastard pack(s), and if it weren't for the fact that I've been driving it for a year now, I'd say it is unsafe to drive. the leafs on the pass side are secured with a combination of 1/4" bar stock with a couple holes drilled for 3x1/4" bolts and nylon nuts. and the u-bolts are twisted all over the place. That's gonna be next paycheck in 2 weeks.
I think I'll order a set of 3' lift leaf packs from Rough Country, and be done with it.

Drums are easy. Not to mention that drums have more stopping power/clamping force than discs.

You dont have the second set of mounting holes for crossmember like xjs do. Just run a tap thru them to clean out the built up gunk. There allready tapped out ?

But now I have another problem...the 2 used master and slave cylinder kits I got from the jy kept popping the rod out of the slave when I tried to push for peddle pressure when it's been installed....
Now I Gota get a new slave and figure how to get it to not pop out of the chamber

It really sucked doing this 40+ times and 3 hours trying to figure it out till I have up
