What's wrong with the one on her zj?

 

It was pretty much empty after she informed me it has been making noise. The little remaining fluid was black. After changing it, it still makes a grinding noise. This is months after it was on her dad's lift and I told them to drain/fill it before driving it down from J'ville.

 

Have you checked adjustment on the linkage after adding fluid?

 

Check fluid in it , check for up and down movement in yokes and seek out the least modified jeep there . Really no other way

 

No, I took it to a shop and they said i sounds bad after driving it. I called a couple places and they said running them low takes out the seals, bearings, etc and the black fluid indicates that it's toast. Not really my problem other than it's in my shop and I want it gone. Probably will hit Upull in WPB tomorrow to grab another.
