There is a thread for this stuff. But I will give a quick answer. Another 4.0l out of a Cherokee. You can get a rebuilt one or get one from the junk yard and rebuild it your self.

need one from a 91-99 cherokee... 93-98 grand cherokee and i forget what TJ's... the grand cherokees you will not be able to use anything but the engine/head... everything else is different around the motor... i recommend a 99 though because if you get it from a JY then you will probly get the intake as well which is a nicer and better intake... also its the newest and chances are of better mileage...
my recommendation is buy mine... was rebuilt in Jan... in a 95 cherokee... comes with everything... $400 for the whole front half of the cherokee... windshield forward... tranny included... no suspension or axles...

-White with gray interior
-D60 up front (Hi Steer Arms from Mild to Wild), Solid Axle diff cover
-GM 14 bolt in rear , Four linked with coil springs. Also added disc brakes on rear with BTF brackets.) Solid axle diff cover, shaved
-Tires are TSL Bias Ply 38x12.5x16.5 on H1 Hummer bead locks (60% tread left)
-Yukon gears, 5.13 front/rear
-Detroit lockers front/rear - also put in brand new carrier in the 14 bolt
-Suspension is a mix of Rusty's and Skyjacker
-Tom Woods - rear drive shaft
-Carolina driveline - front shaft
-Tomken rear bumper
-Olympic front bumper
-K&N air filter system
-Twin sticked the Dana 300 (already boxed in and still covered in carpet)
-Warn premium lockout hubs
-Rebuilt Kingpins
-New spindle/bearings on driver side
-Full PSC Hydro assist system (includes ram, pump, gear box, reservoir, and in-line cooler)

-Electric windows, locks, compass and outside temp gauge all work flawlessly.
-Has metal inserts (this gives you bead locks on your inners and outers) and had the wheels road- forced balanced at Hummer.
-New Optima Yellow Top battery
-Rock sliders
-Stainless braided brake lines on both axels converted to AN fittings
-Custom exhaust tucked up under the body out of harms way
-New starter

i mean ya i could... but its the same looking motor a the one under your hood... lol... pics wont tell you much... its still in the jeep and i havent taken apart yet... will make a couple videos of it running when i get back to GA... or you can come see it when i get back as well and listen to it run... i was just gonna sawzall the front of the jeep off since its sitting on my trailer with no axles and it would be too hard to pull the engine normal way... gonna sawzall it off and just slide it off to whoever wants its trailer... that way they get everything also...

Athens here! Just got a 92 Cherokee Limited, previous owner gave it a 2" lift but nothing special. I love her, but haven't been able to take her offroad much since I have no idea where to go. Any tips?
