Right. When I did mine I borrowed everything because I didn't think I would set gears again... Lol.
Good luck Travis.
First thing I'm gonna do is a truss. Might do the BTF and cover.
Also, I think I'll need ford inner shafts and Chevy outers... How much are shafts near you Travis?
Fair warning on the BTF cover (DIY) after it's welded the flange will warp a fair amount, the only way I could see it sealing was to mill it back flat, when we did the one I modded for the 14bolt shave mine warped about .100" total indicator run out. I would buy a solid cover unless you plan to weld brackets to it for hydro assist or something.
Thanks killa!!

I said the BTF one because it has a simple bridge truss and the cover ties into that. I didn't figure I could warp in any with everything bolted together. I might just do a small bridge and cheap cover. I'll probably do hydro assist eventually, but it will be passenger side mounted.

You don't know my wife... lol... it wouldn't be my choice... lol
The bolt on cover to the truss isn't bad but it's not really neccessary... plenty of others... just make sure to get one that has has a flat top if u can... makes It easy for suspension build later if ever need be... Artecs trusses are sweet
very low sitting to... for up front that's very important in order to clear the tall 4.0 blocks oil pan... ruffstuff has a very simple and cheap truss... but very stout... course TnT is nice.. I've never really shopped BTF I've just seen many pics on show trucks... your axle man do what u like! Everyone's got their own build in mind fo sho!

Artec doesn't have a radius arm 44 truss from a ford, TNT is expensive as **** with all the mounts, and I need to look into others obviously. Front swaps aren't cheap... Especially if you keep a coil and shock set up

They were different for the radius 44 and leaf sprung or cast ones.
The TNT truss is like $179, upper link, lowers, coil and shock, and track bar are like another $300, the come welded except for the lowers, but that's like $500....

I don't get what u mean? A dana 44 is still a 44 regardless of what factory mounts were on it... I mean my truss and ram mount are for a 85-91.5 ford dana 60... they axle on my 06 now... I know they have a ford 44 drivers side truss...

This^^^ The only major differences are things like overall width or knuckle assemblies but the carrier itself is still a D44 unit.
