i was gonna learn it on my front 60 but when i went to take it out the whole chunck fell out... the 60's i should have had to use a case spreader... got to looking and there was NO shims at all... someone else had been in there and had no idea what was going on... that would be why the pinion was twisted off it! lol... no starting point though so no a good axle to try and learn off of... lol

I only do front axles. I'd do a rear axle on a trail rig but setting up gears that will see a load at highway speeds for extended periods of time ain't for me.

The guy with the 2000 XJ just texted me and said if I wanted to trade my MacBook for his XJ he's down. Said he was getting lazy and just wanted to get rid of it. Lol.

So on a sad note I am selling my jeep. I really like it, but I want another f150, and the new job is making it possible for me to buy another one. I was just curious what you guys think my jeep it worth? Im thinking $2,000 obo, Ill take $1,800. Its not in the greatest cosmetic shape but the motor is in fantastic condition. body has 180k, motor is around 100k. I got it and did all the maintenance I could.
Pros: 4x4 works, heat works, new valve cover gasket, new oil pan gasket, new plugs and wires, fresh oil change as well as transfer case and diff fluid. posi-rear end, clean seats, custom Red accent hatch.
cons: custom red accent hatch, Ac needs charged, bumper if you want one, glovebox handle, needs airbag, , fender is dented, slight buckle in hood barely noticeable when shut, cracked windshield, no carpet( I was gunna bedline but its fine either way to me...)
though its all easy stuff....
