I see them a lot.

It doesn't have to be a wagoneer axle. Find a HP full width D44 axle and cut it down. You can do it with a grinder and some patience.

Then ill have to cut down each shaft I buy for it.
I can see it working..but wouldnt that put the weak link on the weld where the axle comes back together?

No, you cut it down to wagoneer width and run wagoneer shafts.

Also no, you remove the C on one side, cut the tube off and weld the C back on.
