Hey guys, I'm new to AL but I've been wheelin down in florida with my '96 XJ for the past 5 years. I'm thinking about heading to stony lonesome out in cullman around the 1st of June with a buddy who has a rubicon. Anyway just curious how active everyone is here in AL and what are your favorite spots around central AL to go get muddy (i'm not really setup for rock crawling).
Also i'm living over in the pell city area so I've been out to Cheaha but only for some quick hiking trails and not really sure if there is anything worth driving to around there.
Anyway I hope to hear from some of you guys soon so I can meet all of the local XJ owners near where i'm living now and we can plan a lot of camping and wheeling trips.
Sorry for such a large image,

just for reference this was some simple cruising we did down in florida
keep it dirty,
Ian

Yeah Im not a muddin guy but you should try the rocks.........its much cleaner! Morris Mountain ORV is a good spot. Never been to Choccolocco though.
Morris Mountain is having a big ride over Memorial Day weekend for wounded warriors. Im gonna camp and ride with the family. Should be fun according to the weather.

good to know. I'm used to more of a no rules environment compared to morris mtn. I think i read somewhere that they require you to carry a fire extinguisher and a spare tire. I haven't carried a spare tire for 4 years all through college bc i need the space to fit more people.
where is your typical "go to" place for a quick weekend trip anywhere in the southeast, I'm originally from Ft. Lauderdale so I try to travel back down south once in a while

there are some good trails in Leeds and that shouldnt be too far from you in pell city. also there is trails in gardendale also closer than montgomery to you... check out bham JK also. both groups are pretty good and seem to be cool people.

so i'm curious if any of you happen to have an extra track bar bracket that would work on my '96 xj. the hole for the track bar to mount to on mine has bored itself out and i'm almost certain that is what is causing some serious wobbles right at 45mph.
If no one has one laying around then i'm looking for advice:
I can remove the bracket and weld on grade 8 washers to the top and bottom face to create a new hole to mount the track bar. would this be a good solution or will it take up too much room and not allow me to tighten down the nut and insert the cotter pin.
Any advice helps, thanks guys
