Yeah I was a sports car "guy" before this jeep. Sold my 2001.5 Audi S4 6spd and bought the jeep. Although I miss twin turbo awd goodness, I like having something that can be used for multiple tasks and is cheap to maintain. We will have to get together sometime soon. Hopefully down at Grey Rock.

Its not hard just cost a bit to get the tools u need.
This is the most expensive piece.

Def easier to pull the axle to do it. I could not imagine doing it without pulling the axles.
Read a lot. Buy the tools slowly. Read some more. Then post a ton of questions like i did and your good. Cost me about... Well including lockers under 1500 to do it myself. Would have cost over 2000 for the parts and labor at a shop

I have the hook up on gears, piecing my lockers right now.........and while I am there I am gonna install long arms.
I just hate dealing with setting back lash. ITs been 8 years since i have done that, and I don't remember anything about it.

Do you have the magnetic base dial indicator. If you do i will be cake. Get your pinion preload right then check. Try to use only stock shims.
To much backspacing add to ring gear side. Not enough backspacing "too tight". Remove from rung gear side. This is where set up bearing are a need.
Digital calipers are a great tool also. I got mine on ebay for 10 bucks. Cheap but just as accurate. Just dont know how long they last lol.
