Hell, there's a big step from maintaining public access to the area thru this road to providing a large, safe parking area for tow rigs and trailers! It ain't a county park, it's just a road, but I understand your need to park somewhere.
A few weeks back there was a large, level parking area graded out, a couple weks later it was blocked off again. There's also now 3 roads in one there, I don't know why.

They are building a subdivision up the side of the mountain. Lots are already being sold. The road is public property the land around it is not and soon only thing we'll be able to do on that side is drive up and down a paved road.

I've been going up whiteside so my buddies have places to park their trucks to unload their 4 wheelers (at the post office)...but there are huge grassy areas on the left side of 211 that tow rigs with big jeeps have been parking in...
right before Aetna Mountain Rd. which takes you to the trails on the other side of the mountain (like the wall, buzzards roost, and eventually ending up at the PB hole), you would just pull off the road and unload, and ride up...it's plenty safe, the folks out there won't mess with your stuff...just an idea

I've gone in that way several times and used to go that way before the subdivision. All the land off Aetna Mt. Rd is leased and private property. Most are hunting clubs and this time of year they get a bit mad when you come through there and have been known to call jonny law. You can follow the road most of the way to Bowater Tree and then over to PBH and you're usually good. Not sure about parking on the side of the road though.

good point i didnt even think of deer season up there...i've had them give me a little hell for riding over by split rock, low road, and jeep top, but i just played dumb...but as far as parking goes, unless you have a we rock key, sounds like you're unfortunately SOL...if only someone would buy all they house property and turn it into a big parking lot for us hahaha
