The fluid specification for Dexron-VI was introduced in 2005, and was first used as the GM factory-fill automatic transmission fluid for model year 2006. All Dexron-III licenses expired permanently at the end of 2006, and GM now supports only Dexron-VI fluids for use in their automatic transmissions, [3] although fluids asserted by their manufacturers to meet Dexron-III standards continue to be sold under names such as Dex/Merc. These fluids are not regulated or endorsed by GM.[4]

Started my solenoids today. Trans. Drain plug was cross threaded by the previous owner. Dropped the whole pan after removing the cross member. Couldn't completely get it off because the dipstick wouldn't pull through the bottom and I couldn't remove the dipstick from the pan.
So I let it hang there and do my solenoids. The lock clip to the lock up solendoid broke so I jus shoved it on there hoping it will stay put. Scraped the old rtv off the pan and put on my gasket.
Bolted it up for the most part and stopped. I plan on getting a new pan and putting it on later down the road and maybe jerry rig the clip so it can't come unplugged.
I'll finish bolting it up tomorrow and add fluid and pray I can run it thru the gears.
I'll keep u guys updated

Ya thats a hike! Haha I wish I could tho. Id like to do it with someone who is more mechanically inclined so while we do it they can point out any other issues I have, like I know I need new TREs. But Im sure I need much more
Started her up this morning to a check engine light, she was having some problems taking off like she was stuck in 3rd gear for like 10 min, pulled over put her in park, turned heroff and back on and she was running fine. took her to autozone for a free read and I got a transmission code, P1763; governor pressure sensor too high. I havent had problems with her slipping or anything before this.
Edit: so it sat all day and the light was on when I came to work, went on break and now my engine lights off.
