Taking my rear drive shaft to driveline 1 tomorrow morning to have it rebuilt. You buy the spicer joints there they put them in free. My u-joint at the end of my shaft that connects to the axle, one of the caps is cracked. Replacing all 3 and having them clean it up and rebuild the cv portion of it too.

I usually charge 300 if you bring me the tranny. And I warranty it

And I should be able to get you a rebuild kit for a hundred dollars.

That's a deal. And if I were not working 90hrs a week, I would give an even better deal since you're a xj guy.

worked on the radiator tonight and got the old one out. then decided while i was there to check my thermostat. its a 195, and i boiled it and it never opened. glad i took the time to check it. what is a good temperature thermostat to run? i know O.E. is 195, but does anyone recommend a different temperature?

also traded off a set of nutstrips i oredered from 4wd hardware for a factory set of tow hooks now i'll have better tow points on it.

Yep, that is bad.

I made the mistake last time I went to heiney thinking my axle joint with just a little play would make it. Well it made it. But I really wanted to try this trail I failed at the first time. Could not risk it, the joint was making a racket and I was lucky to get home.

Bottom line is if the joint is lose replace it.
