My problem is I have to drive across the country for work this summer. I am just trying to get caught up with what appears to have been a serious lack of basic maintenance. I don't mind spending the an extra $200 if/when I lift it, say a year from now, to save $200 now and potentially create some driveline problems two three weeks before I move.
Once I graduate, I can actually afford to do some fun things with the Jeep, and I can give some poor college student a great deal on a set of stock stuff
I found the 'heavy-duty' leaf springs at Rockauto.com for $86/per side. I just can't find a lift kit that includes the basic maintenance stuff like ball joints and bushings for things. Am I not looking hard enough?

You can get the same HD springs on Amazon for 85 bucks each and with items over 25 it's free shipping!! I thought about this option and using the AAL kit when I go 3". My rear looks like whoever owned it before me used it to drag a horse trailer, FFS.
This option will get me back to stock for less than the total preperations and jazz will take for a solid lift, and with fairly newer springs, the AAL won't be as frustrating...OR worrying that the springs are only one bounce away from cracking...
Just my buck'o five worth of input....

Yeah, as we went through an overflowing storm drain that was flowing over the sidewalks my 13 year-old said, "I guess this would be why you would want a snorkel, huh, dad?"
