I found them to be around $500? Where should I look?
Balljoints, bushings for upper and lower arms, steering stabilizer, sway bar links and bushings, heavy duty leaf packs, and shocks all the way around would be ~$350 delivered to my door (All from RockAuto).

Edit: I know my ball joint, ss, sway bar stuff, shocks, and leafs are bad. Not sure about the bushings, but those seem to be a "why not" while I'm doing everything else anyways.

How much are the leaf packs? They usually run $200 a set on thier own.

You are also shy the coils for the front end for the lift. Fwiw- call jason at rough country, ask what the cheapest price is on the 3" series 2 aal set is (reminding him u get the cf discount). Mine shipped was $370. It has shocks, coils, aal, stabilizer, lca's, hardware, and ask for some decals thrown in. I do not think u will be disapointed.

My fear is that you go through all of that for stock height, and wish you would have lifted.

If it wont tow, add a couple s10 leafs to it to stiffen it. I tow a little and it does ok with the aal.

Fwiw.

The RC 3" lift, with complete springs is around 500. I've been looking myself because replacing all my shocks, saggy-*** rear leafs, weak front and weirdo front end issues. Its cheaper and better to go ahead and lift with the 3" complete kit than piece-meal it together.

My problem is patience! I have less of that than money....

My problem is I have to drive across the country for work this summer. I am just trying to get caught up with what appears to have been a serious lack of basic maintenance. I don't mind spending the an extra $200 if/when I lift it, say a year from now, to save $200 now and potentially create some driveline problems two three weeks before I move.
Once I graduate, I can actually afford to do some fun things with the Jeep, and I can give some poor college student a great deal on a set of stock stuff

I found the 'heavy-duty' leaf springs at Rockauto.com for $86/per side. I just can't find a lift kit that includes the basic maintenance stuff like ball joints and bushings for things. Am I not looking hard enough?

I would just buy them all separate. Sounds like you know what you want. Go for it and lift it later.
