Yeah the roof rack will be fun. I like it, just a free project! Altho I dont have a welder so I might rivet them on.

Then I want bumpers!!!! HAHA I wanna try to make my own (buy a welder also). Can you tell the exact year? I feel like an *** for not asking him. LOL Im thinking 95 idk tho.

Also the bike I am tradeing is a 2002 zx6r that is a rebuilt salvaged. Was wrecked. I have it listed for 2400 but no one has even offered that. So I figure his jeep is worth about 1500-1700ish.

Im happy with it, and I have had the bike since april and it hasnt been plated yet. LOL

Ps. How old are you?
It looks like a 94-96 but for that era they are all just about the same.
Well I am horrible at bike values, as I would never get one since they scare the **** out of me (not the bike itself but more other drivers on the road it kinda seems like a coffin on wheels..) But it seems like a good trade. I got a cheap gasless MIG Lincoln for cheap from my dads buddy, but wouldn't trust myself to making a bumper haha
And I am 20.

Yeah I would practice a little bit first. But I am very good with designing and building things. I also took precision machining in highschool which I practiced welding alot. Even know that was 13ish years ago lol

Ill see how it goes, The scrap yard around here always has pieces of steel for cheap!

The bike, is ehhh I traded a 94 Mustang GT for it that needed, paint/top/interior. Plus all mods, like lowering/rims/exhaust. I had to get all new fairings and paint some stuff but I only put about 300$ into the bike. 40ish$ in the stang for tune up. And I traded my zx9r that had a blowen clutch for that mustang. LOL So its been a process.

Yeah I know that process in my 4 years of driving I started with a 92 Caddy then a 2000 Grand Am, then a 97 TJ, then my 00 XJ, then got a 02 WRX that I got for cheap rebuilt the tranny and made some cash off it, then the 06 KJ, and now the other 99 XJ! Also have a 1970 Chevy C10 that I have been slowly restoring for a few years, although rarely have time to work on it..
Here is the teaser pic of the done motor

Also had a 93 Yamaha XL650 (Jet ski) but traded that off, and now have a 03 Polaris Trailblazer ATV and a 96 Arctic Cat Jagz 440 snowmobile, as well as a pop-up camper

Haha yeah I wish I had more money, as well as more time...
And I am sure you'll love an XJ they are awesome, big enough for 4 comfortably, they are a DD that can tow and drive through anything and the 4.0 will run forever and stock can beat that sh!tty civic with the fart can when he comes up revving next to you!
To be honest I got the camper free off craigslist a few months ago and havent even finished it yet.. Its a 82 Coleman, a big one at 22' when open took the roof off and completly rebuilt it, cut down the dinette and turned it into a L shaped couch and took out a small cabinet to make it a lot roomier inside, redid the floor, updated the electrical and painted the inside, as well as half of the outside (still need to do the other half haha) as well as painted the frame and put a new coupler on it and was in the process of redoing the cabinets and countertop when I put it away for winter last week.. Also got all new LED lights inside and out and LED taillights and markers, with new rims and tires only 1" larger then stock but with a higher load rating, repacked bearings and want to lift it a few inches.
In the spring I will pull it back out and have it finished and ready to camp
Its got a slight retro theme of all black, white and silver right now, and looks pretty good except for the ugly cushions I need to recover and the canvas doesn't match but thats too expensive for me to replace..

Oh it is a pop-up style, I meant to say once popped up and with the beds on either side slid out it sits at 22' long from bunk end to bunk end. But still only weighting in at 1400LBs plus +150 Lbs when I install a water tank and fill it which makes it light enough to barely feel behind the KJ or I'm sure the XJ.
And I'm in the same boat waiting... But I'm at work and have to wait til monday for my dad to get the new XJ delivered to him, then a month or so to actually go down fix it and drive it up...
Brutal waiting period with my new XJ 400+ miles away...

Yeah that's a hell of a wait!

Ahh that's cool to I want a pop up, but I'm thinking I may just wait another ten years or so since I'm still ok with a tent. Then get a hard body camper. With slide out sides. 8)

I found out it's a 93 xj I hope all goes well! Still gotta give it the test drive and allthat good ****. Although I'm probably gonna take it regardless. Just because the bike is a waste to Me right now.

Yeah its the wrong season for a bike, and you won't get what its worth until spring, so if its drives good, then I think your coming out on top!

Yeah, To start it was smoking pretty bad. He tried to say it was the bad gas but it smelled like burnt oil. The rings probably dryed up and took a **** since it was sitting for so long. Then I noticed it was at 210* right away so he had it running for awhile before I got there. I let it Idle while I looked aorund and it started to over heat.

Also he told me when I asked to take it for a ride that with the bigger tires it turns funny sorta like a wrangler. I said oh... cause I have no Idea but its was skippy or jumpy while turning the wheel. To me I say its a lie it shouldnt be like that.

Also that leak was power steering. It also was hard as hell to get into gears like 2 even more so on 3rd and I couldnt get it into 4th. He said "oh really huh"

So I think the best move was just to pass. I still wanted it but I dont have room for another POS. Id buy it if it was about 500ish. But Ill wait it out and get something I like.

Oh yeah, He had nice set of wheels, aftermarket shifter, 4 new KC lights, sparco seat, brand new spare. If only it didnt smoke or over heat.
