Hey guys,

I'm up north in Chicago, but will probably be moving to the Lexington area within the next year. I was wondering what you guys have out there. Mud? Rocks? How many parks? Up here we have one park that's mostly mud that's an hour away from me. And 3 hours away in Michigan is the Badlands.

. There are a few areas down south and east of Lexington. Look up the Putney trailhead in Harlan Kentucky. Your a lot closer to off roading in Lexington than I am near for knox.

Right on. So is it mostly a mix of mud and rocks? I'm built for mud, but I mean I can take on rocks. I'd just need sliders and maybe some skids. Glad to hear there are multiple places. I'm tired of having just one close place.

Just watched some videos of Black Mountain and it looks sick!

Where at in Chicago? I am originally from the Northwest suburbs but moved here to lexington to go to college at UK. There is a fair amount of places to play around in the mud here, considerably more than up north anyway

Haha nice! I'm on the north side, next to Wrigley. How are you liking Lexington/Kentucky?

It'll probably be in a year or two. I need to get my house ready to sell and then go from there. I was originally thinking of moving back to TN, but KY is so dang nice.

I'm planning a trip to big rock off road(maysville, ky) on november 9th. I would like to get some people from cherokee forum to run with us. If you haven't been there it is a pretty good park. I will probably stay the weekend . There are hotels nearby or the park has a cabin they rent pretty cheap. If you would be interested in doing some wheelin. Let me know. I would love to have a CF ride.

I have been a member of this forum for sometime now & unsure if I have intro myself yet? I'm Wendell & live in Reed (Between Henderson & Owensboro) We just got our first Jeep & it's a 96 Grand Cherokee Limited. It's a nice ride & by no means a rock climber,,lol But would be nice for the bunnie trails,,lol It would be kool to get with some locals to take on a few ant hills

Bit of a silly question, but is there an issue with Jeep theft? It seems in Chicago every couple weeks to a month a lifted Jeep is stolen.. Just curious more than anything.

I've never heard of anything like that around here. It's a much safer place in general than Chicago, as long as you avoid some of Lexington's little pocket-ghettos

I'm so surprised that you've never heard of anything like that. Chicago really has I guess in a sense corrupted me. My relatives near Bowling Green told me they don't lock their doors. I was in shock haha.

I'm also driving down to Lexington this weekend to check some areas out to live. Can't wait to get out of this city.
