Don't second guess your purchase. If the XJ is going to see more road then trails. Run with it. If you plan on going higher and running more trails with it, then look into a SYE.

It is if you have the money to spend it on. Both have its upsides and downsides. I spend a lot of money on my rigs so a SYE would be the way I would go but if you're looking for the less expensive route, a HNT isn't a horrible purchase. If done right, it will last just as long as a SYE.
I don't spend half the money most do but when it come to these things I do. my drivetrain is probably one of the best drivetrains using all stock parts of an xj. from my 99 intake to my ported head to my new bottom end. from my hd trasn etc... I NEED these things but if I was to tell a new jeeper what to do I would NEVER recommend a HnT unless they didn't have the money then id tell them to wait
