On my phone that looks like a hunk of lumber.... On the computer its magically HREW rec stock.

See the seam inside that tubing?? That is the mark of HREW steel. Hot Rolled Electrically Welded steel is some of the softer steel available, but it is normally plenty for what we are doing.

Compared to no bumper... yes.

The thickness looks to be about 1/8 inch?? Its not ideal for a bumper, 3/16ths or 1/4in would be better.
