Whoa..... you have to be really close to me. Messenger's is where I took my junk.

Messenger's is still kinda open. They have no scale in Byron now. They still will buy vehicles but only for set price. If you want to pound pricing, you have to go to their new spot in Rochelle.

It's still owned by Behr though. They bought them out last year, gave the brothers jobs, but they can't open their own scrap yard for X amount of years. Behr didn't like the competition, they were a family owned business and their prices were always better. I honestly think Behr forced the sale with some underhanded tactics. Nothing to be done about it now and purely speculation based on conversations I've had.

Dad made sure that the brothers were taken care of. Any non-competition clause is pretty pointless as the county would never permit another scrapyard again. Where the property is, the Forest Preserve is looking for bids to construct a hotel on the old gravel pit property(where the closed skate park is now). You would be able to clearly see the JY from there. The county has been looking for reasons to shutter it since the Nielsens owned it.

deffinatly like kotsie said check your ground connections but im sure you've done this. qeustion when you crank it and crank it can you smell gas? somebody correct me but if you crank and crank a motor and no spark you will smell fuel. If no feul smell id say fuel problem. The chug chug sound you say you get almost seems your not getting enough fuel. When you turn your key over can you hear your fuel pump. Things to check my friend.

For the love of God, where in town do you live? I have a code reader if you need codes pulled. LMK.

sorry i know this sounds all elementary and i sound ignorant but there's some things i've done 100 times and some i've never had to touch on any cars i've owned. i read on this forum all day sometimes trying to learn.

i live up in roscoe, if you could make it up any time this week i'd appreciate it.

Both.

Test the fuel pressure/flow rate. Don't guess. You can 'rent' the tester from O'reillys or Autozone.
