As of now I haven't ran with one. Some say you need one with a 4.5 but all I have is tranny crossmember drop. So far so good. But I don't wheel I hard cuz I still use it as a daily driver.

The older rigs seem to be more tolerable about things like that. Its kinda on a rig to rig basis some can get away without it some cant. I do recomend one for anything over 3 inches..oh and bumpstop bumpstop bumpstop. LOL. For Every inch up i would extend bumpstop equal length.

I never saw vibration before I installed mine. Didn't even run a transfer case drop. Pre 96 is a good idea so u can convert to the rear seal on the np231. Without that if u drop the drive line on trail the transfer case dumps.....better have more fluids! Jamesp will have ur back if he's there. Back end of his rig. Is like Wally world..... chicken. Little style.
