COME ON OUT 3903 s harvard total car care of tulsa 5ish till ? more the better lol come bs with the best and lets plan a wheeling trip hope to see u there

I have loud chirping sound coming from engine,not sure what it may be? Sounds like a belt,but it is not...... Removed belt and noise coming from upper engine !! Removed tappet cover and looking for broken push rod and bad spring......not sure got to dark to work more on... Any idea's?

So as you guys know I am looking to replace my tranny, I found a jeep with a 231J transfer case, what is the difference between the the 231 and the 231J?

Did you start it with the cover off? It makes a mess but it might pin point the noise. See if all the rockers are getting oil. That's about the only thing I can think of. Does it still run good??

Sounds like a bird chirp? If so look at your rotor bug and cap mine did that back in December took me a few hours to track down and it was my rotor bug hitting one contact on the cap replaced both and never has done it again.

Bigz tappet cover off, and very noisy. Will look after work at rotor bug to,nick!good idea's!
Talk to woodie,he came up some ideas too!

The J just signifies it's for a Jeep.. there was also a NP231C (Chevy) and NP231D (Dodge).
