Is there some trick to removing the drive shaft from the transfer case? Mine is a 242, it should just pull out right?

I've got my 8.8 fully installed. I ordered the Hack N Tap from Iron Rock a week ago and I figured it's be here today or tomorrow, but I went a head and called them. They informed me it has not shipped yet and MIGHT ship this week. It said nothing on their website about a delayed shipping time. So my XJ is stuck in the garage for at least a week more. Makes me so happy.

Nice man! Your weakest link for the rear drivetrain has now become your transfercase rear output shaft! LOL

Here are some update pics. Its funny I told myself I would take more pics to better document the build for others but when you're by yourself it just doesn't happen.

need help

Im installing a IRO hack n tap kit, Ive all ready hacked the shaft, but my problem is I can not get the hole drilled for the tap. I have brand new colbalt bits but they wont make a scratch. The is already aboutan 1/8" hole started and I cannot get it any larger. The bits just spins and leave no marks on the 242 output shaft.

So any that has doen a Hack N tap, have you had an issue with the end of the yoke leaking fluid. It does not leak at the bolt but instead around the edge of the yoke. Its only a little but enough to make me made I spent money on this kit. Now I thinking I will just pull the transfer case and rebuild it complete with a true SYE kit. It ha 260k on it so its about time.

Curious if anyone else is going to Hidden Falls on May 4 for the Wheelers for the Wounded event?
