so recap, get a
97+ 8.25 29 spline (bolt in)
87-89 D44 XJ No c-clips (bolt in) (rare)
95+ ford Explorer 8.8 with disk brakes. requires little welding.
All 130$ from tear apart....
now go grab one!

So 8.8 you guys fab brackets to adapt to xj or bye them from a company ? And brake lines ? Just need longer ones ? Then to get back to the start what locker would be best for this then thanks

I have had to replace C-clips before for "wearing thin" and causing the shafts to walk in and out more then normal. it wouldn't stop me from running one if i had one, but If I had to pick from 2 axles and one didn't have them I would go without C-clips.
One C-clip, VS A plate, pressed bearing and retainer, with a snap ring.... makes sense to me...
I didn't know you where such a 8.8 guy lol

f150 leaf spring plates $2.50 tear apart
Ubolts $40 you can find them cheaper though..
ford ranger 1310 flange $2.50 tear apart
and I used the stock brake lines and never did my shock's I was lazy

the stock upper mount's were rusted away.

i'm not a 8.8 guy but for the money you can't get a more beef axle. my .02 cent's.and witha c clip eliminator the 8.8's are golden.

mine run's 2 tristen.... The D60 is almost done though, then it will drive. now what axle did ya replace a c clip on I can bet it wasn't a 8.8

It wasn't a 8.8, but doesn't change anything in how it works/fails. it was a GM rear end.
Sure seam like a 8.8 guy, getting a little butt hurt over a small comment lol
