I'm going to try to make this. I was toying with the NAXJA run, but I just have too many things to get taken care of on the rig (things I've kinda neglected I'm embaressed to say) to feel confident about making the run without having problems & being a burden to the group. I need to help my son get a grocery list of stuff done on his in the meantime as well.

 

Taking em further back will be worth the effort. Knowing they'll hold vs hopeing they hold will allow you to have confidence in your build and thus more time having fun than worrying. And if you decide on a winch one day you'll already be tied in real nice! Now show off the bumper sucker!

They do not come with the flap itself (or didn't when I got mine), but a gigundo 18 wheeler flap is like $9 at the trailer supply store. You can cut both flaps from one of those, most likely.

 

Hahaha, well at least I am not alone... That was my plan, cut up one from a semi to make 2.

 

I didnt even put a dial indicator on mine when i did it. And so far, ive taken my jeep up to about 40mph, and i get no vibes. Its actually really smooth. I was surprised. If i were to do one for a daily driven vehicle i wouldve made sure it was in spec... which is usually like .003". But for what mine is, its perfect.

 

Where would be a good place to get 4.88 gears for a dana 30 and a 8.25

4.88 gears ate hard to find for a 8.25

 

Next Tueday Im gettin the brackets takin farther back. This is how they sit now. I have a whole looootta grindin to do and paint and it will be done.
