I am really starting to think the previous owner of my XJ was a complete moron when it came to repairs/ modifications . The more I dig around and do little repairs to the XJ I keep finding all of kinds for retarded modifications. The first thing I noticed was when he had replaced the fender he had cut off the antenna cable. instead of unbolting it. The second thing I found today . I had took off the rear hatch trim panel to access the lock since it was not locking, But I was able to hear the acuator working . Well I found the issue keeping it from locking. He had stuffed a Foam cushion in the access hole over the locking mechanism. I pulled it out, connected the rods to the clips that hold them in place. An viola the hatch locks again.
I wonder what I will find next, Maybe I should take off the other door panels and look for his special insulation there also.

Anyone looking to get out on a run anytime soon? I saw that trash pickup thing in Bountiful but I dunno if I can make it on Saturday. I've got an itch bad right now, hardly even driven my XJ since I took it to Moab in October...I'd love to go down again but I'm wary of the weather this time of year

I've been itching to go hit up some trails in Moab , But I will not run the XJ off the pavement with out proper Recovery points or Rock sliders. Hopefully this spring Moab will be the place to break in the new RE springs and Bilstein 5100's that will be replacing the Tuff Country garbage installed by the Previous owner. I can not wait to hear Slickrock dragging along sliders !
