yes don't run an XJ leaf backwards, traction bar or not they'll still snap i've seen it and can point you towards a few that has broken many leafs for the same reason. run an f-150 main leaf its what you need stretch wise plus made to run that way so you'll have no problems.

The only thing I can think of that would cause that symptom would be something in the control arms (bushings maybe?), thats the only components I can think of that would have a bearing on a diff moving in that manner. I'm no expert by any means though, thats just my hunch based on what you describe.

That's hideous! I like it
I might have to take you up on those joints. The tabs I can make. What year F150 main leaf are we talking, & how much stretch will I get?

Looking over those numbers I think the '95-'04 S-10 main leafs might be my best bet. That should give me 3" of stretch, & 2 3/8" longer leafs for a better then my 90* shackle angle! lol Right? I could go with the mj main but that's too long & will have to either fab up a new hanger or relaxation bracket, but still only gain 3" of stretch

I'll have to see once it gets put together, but plan on bracing the hanger anyways so cutting that rear x-member won't be an issue! I see a half price Wednesday in my near future...

I'm thinking about running ford Ranger 56" spring's or Derek's suggestion F-150 leaf's
