I might do a 3/4 day tommorow, my son wants to go hiking (since he started doing the volunteer work for the Forest service he's an outdoor junkie), he wants the old man to go with him and we haven't gotten to hike this year so I'm going to see if I can put that together. That kid and I have had some awesome adventures, I better hang on to the opportunity before he gets older, has his own life and doesn't have as much time for Dad.
Hey all, couple ?'s and bad to good news. First... unfortunately I killed 2 deer with the cherokee outside of kamas last sunday. Insurance is totalling her but she runs straight and true outside of some front end bruises. I will buy her back and end up with a check. Gonna get replacement parts from JY. Anyone have painting skills and a place to spray ?? i would rather pay a fellow XJ'r than a stranger to paint my replacement parts. Second, I blew my top radiator hose last night. I ended up pulling my t-stat out (dont ask why) replaced new hose and she is running much cooler. Can i run her w/out t-stat till winter or will i cause damage ? I just prefer her running cooler when i trail slow and when im in the valley on a hot day. Thanks, Chris
It will probably run hotter with no t-stat and cause damage, not a good idea.. t stat controls the flow of coolant without it the radiator can not cool it fast enough because it flows to fast through it and will cause it to overheat
Hi Guys. I'm a newbie to Jeeps who just bought a 2000 Sport as a DD and occasional off-road toy. Since the purchase I've read several references to the best years being 97-99. What changed in 2000 to keep them off the list?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I think it is just the hp front 30 and they went to the coil rail on the engine. I have a 01 and i cannot stand the coil rail i replace spark plug like they are going out of style. other then that i love it.
