Depends on the music type and wattage. I listen to a lot of rock and metal, so I do an unported one. These are faster IMO, to keep up with bass drum hits.
If you are more of a rap and hip hop fan where the bass notes are long and drawn out, and that is what you want emphasized, then the ported ones are your ticket.
I have a sealed on with a single 12 and it does great for my needs.
