I did not know I needed to look at the positioning of the lugs on the knuckle. As it turns out, the lugs were clocked differently so the caliper sits higher up than originally. Not by a lot, but enough that it does not properly clear the "C" when turning, and the arm that is supposed to go on the flat top would have to be heavily trimmed to go on. We ended up drilling a second set of holes in the caliper bracket to make it mount in the approximate stock location. It took a while, but turned out pretty good.
The flat tops are on, now I need to get the arm (ordered last week, but not here yet) then measure for the links. So close!

My other knuckle that I can't use was clocked right. I had not read about this issue anywhere, although I had seen one clocked differently before. On the old 76 fullsize cherokee we had, they were clocked similarly, but it was because it had drum brakes up front. That was extremely rare, so I did not think I would see another one. But who knows, maybe certain Ford or Chevy knuckles are in that position for other reasons. I have no idea what vehicle these came off.
