Does anyone know the easiest way to tell if it's a puegot or aisin? Looks like aisin but not sure? I have a star bolt but it keeps popping off wouldn't stay on.

the best way to tell them apart is the main case on the puegot is a 2 piece main case and it looks like a clam where the aisin is one piece main case.

G'day all from downtown SLC.
Recently bought a 90 XJ. First XJ for me.
Had a few assorted Jeeps through the years. From a 46 MJ to a 76 PU, think it was a Laredo model. It had an eagle painted on the hood OEM and MPG 10 no matter what always 10.
Various other 4X4's including Landcruisers, 'Yota and Ford PU's plus a 72 International Scout II I wish I'd never sold.
Hope someone here has the solution for my XJ issue(s):
Cruise, radio and clock not working.
Clock actually does work. But not lighting up, if you look carefully you can see it though.
I am beleiving that there is something in common causing these to not function as should.
