in my opinion just swap the locker. it's a 1 hr job and nothing else needed.
It is both HP so on other carrier I still have to pull it out and and undo the ring gear in order to get the pin out or the spider gears after I put the locker and ring gear in do they need to have back lash checked and pattern ?

Not to big of a deal, just some people need to clean up after themselves.

Nope, you have to drop the gear, its only like 10 bolts... if you mark the carrier and gear, and re-align the gear onto the carrier in the SAME spot it was, you wont have to reset backlash/gear pattern. I would do it this way, sounds like a lot of work but its less headache later.

Using a ring gear with another pinion gear is a bad idea, gears mesh and wear together. they never wear the same, so putting a worn ring with a worn pinion from another set will cause them to have mismatched gear mesh and bad surface contact patches. Some claim it causes the ring/pinion to go out shortly after or shear teeth...

That is odd... both the same trans? thats really all that I can think of that would make them be different, pinion gears are the same so the axle side shouldn't change....

Yes same trans the newer one has no housing around the yoke on trans just a boot. I put the two drive lines side by side and the older one is 1inch longer.

Ok so here is a question for everyone ,

At what point do you put sliders or rocker protection on your vehicle ?

For me it's after the lift
