Hey guys - my computer crapped out and is on the way to Chumbawumba to get fixed, so I may be on way less than usual.

I have some Clayton 6.5" lift coils I do not need. I want some 4.5" to see where it puts my front end. The ones I have now are TJ coils that are about 5-5.5" of XJ lift and I believe are a little softer (better google that). I want my front end just a little lower to match the rear (and I do not want to go up in the rear....hahahahahaha).
If the 4.5's works out, I will have the 5-5.5 coils that I do not need as well - they are rusty's I believe judging by the bright orange. My setup nets me an extra inch and a half or so of lift, so I end up needing much smaller coils for the 5.5" or so that I want.

no it's a buddy's in which he bought it to build his buggy and hasn't really used it since. me and two others use it whenever just so it's getting used

.120 wall works fine, that's what probably 88% of the buggy's, rigs with cages or anything with tube for that matter is. i may have to drop you by a couple small scraps of tube to give you a demo for some understanding

 

Haha, sounds good to me. I just think its interesting to look at and think that will hold up to 4k lbs rolling on rocks no problem lol

 

Well, after seriouse thought... I want 5.5" coild to gain 1 inch, not 2... so I'll buy your used ones, or we could trade I have 4.5" RE coils and have a desire to be bigger

 

What is a good front axle to go with my 8.8 rear. Dana 30 is good for? Also could I get a chevy d44 and have diff shafts made to 5x4.5?

 

I belive an older waggy front will match but not sure what year it is

 

diff is on the wrong side...

 

Its the correct width, but its 6x5.5, could use ford hubs/brakes to get 5x5.5 and use adapters or re-drill the 8.8 . The ideal waggy axle is 80-91 non disco out of the Grand-Wagoneer.

lots of options. biggest limiter is the width and lug pattern.

 

waggy is 6 lug the 8.8 is 5

 

just get two rims with 5 and two rims with 6 lugs

 

So the 30 is good up to 35. How about the disco one still hold up to 35s ?

 

dana 30 and 35 inch tires requires a light foot at least it is for me I keep breaking short side u joints

 

With alloy shafts and the bigger joints yes.
(It will be with a solid 1 piece alloy shaft instead of the 2 peice)

Depends on the brand of joints. I run the same size joints in my D44 and have no problems... the 760X joint is the one to get (fits the shafts with the bigger u-joints)

 

i know i'm gonna end up locking my front, i might as well do it and get it over with
