If your going to spend that much check these out before you get the Claytons. These are the strongest and with free shipping there only about 12 bucks more. http://www.ironman4x4fab.com/Products/UCA-F.html

Nothing really special tool wise.

Not if your getting an adjustable TB. Double shear are the best design.

31s will fit, mine measure 30.6, but youll rip off a flare if you flex to much. Summitracing has some nice wheels. Go more off set and you won't have to adjust your steering stops. I used a dremel with cut off wheels to trim, came out really clean, and the dremel doesnt get away from you as much as a grinder or saw zaw. But mike if you pick up a welder you should help me build a roof rack/spare mount

How many XJs have you had?

That's not a bad idea. That kit comes with the lowers. Those are the ones that hinder your flex the most.

I was looking at one from Harbor Freight that is on sale. I know its not the best but I want a JCR rear bumper and I could get the DIY bumper kit and the welder for a little less than the completed bumper. That way I can learn something and save a few bucks. Kind off just thinking about it right now though.

Mike,,,,I have had 6 and plus about 4 or5 I bought to part out. JeeperGB has had more than that. hahah

Purple,,,,If you get a Harbor freight welder I have a welder friend that buys those then rewires them with heavier gauge wire and welds everything with them. Plus I have a Hobart Handler 120V Argon gas Mig and Lincoln arc you welcome to borrow. The 120v you can run in your garage. The Lincoln is 220V and I have an adapter you can unplug the clothes dryer and weld with that one.
