how hard was it redoing the headliner, because im in desperate need of re finishing it

Its easy remove old fabric then brush off a the old glue as much as it will come off. Or you can sand it off but just use light pressure. I fiberglass any issue with the liner esp the corners. Then ill applyed resin to the whole board and stiffen it up then sanded it again. Went and got about 3yd of fabric jonnas when to home depot and got the loctite heavy 300 spray adhesive. Washed the fabic, then laided it down and center in on the board fold in half and spray the board and fabric making sure to overlap each spray. It helps to have someone else, pick up and slowly lay it down making sure to get the center first, get a paint roller and in the middle go and roll out it on like doin a window sticker. Do the same on the other side and get dry for about a couple hours , then reinstall.Originally Posted by morningstretch87

I still have the headliner board off my 90 if you want it. You could take your time redoing it without having your XJ all torn up.Originally Posted by morningstretch87

haven't found the problem. Temporarily wired the starter to a push start to make way for a Camaro project. Lol. Been out of town lately, so I've been ordering parts here and thereOriginally Posted by Monster3663

I would think so since the actually vent window was just replaced with a solid piece of glass... and the fact the door shape didn't change.Originally Posted by K5ADT
So anyone know if the older (89) door panels will fit the newer doors that don't have the vent windows? Thanks
