Default My first (short) experience on an off road trail

The wife and i took a spur of the moment camping trip last weekend and ended up at the Sand dunes national park. We took my jeep because even though the suspension is shot, it has working ac and that was a bit more important for the 4 hour drive.
When we got there and looked at the map of the park I saw there was a 4wd trail that starts just outside the camp grounds. My wife just kinda rolled her eyes when I pointed it out.
After talking with a ranger about the trail they said that there was a beautiful picnic spot a mile or so up the trail. The only difficulty with the trail is the sand.
So our second day there after playing in the sand all morning, my wife gave the ok for us to pack up a lunch and head that way. The trail was bumpy, my wife almost got car sick till i had her sit up straight so she didn't feel every bump, and the sand wasn't too bad. My xj took the short bit of the trail we rode like a champ. And the picnic spot was well worth it.
The trail we were on was Medano Pass. It has got me hook and wanting to get my suspension fixed and lifted in the process so I can do more. My wife even enjoyed it and may want to check out some of the less bumpy trails as well.
Now I just need to start saving some money for my lift
