The SYE was pretty easy, once we stopped doing bonehead things and read the instructions .

Once you get the t-case out, should really take you about an hr for a newbie. We broke the pump, and cut the shifter rod too short, when it should've never been cut. I had to grab those parts from another t-case to finish the job. Now I have to re-build the t-case I took apart. Oconee off road has the SYE for $169 shipped.

Yes, that's the one. But the price went up $10. Those bastards!!

Don't worry about the date either. I was in a huge hurry to buy mine cuz it "expired" that day. The price was the same for the next week or so.

Ok, so I swung by, and picked up my freshly rebuilt alternator, and this is what I got!! This thing looks better than any new/rebuillt part I have ever purchased. I have yet to install it, and see how it works, but judging by the look of the unit, it will work great!! Cool deal, old shop, old guy running it, and the old boy seems to take some pride in his work. Keep in mind, I paid $95.00 dollars for this thing!!

The man running this shop tells me that the unit that came out of my XJ was a 61 amp unit. This one is 100 amp unit, and he threw a few more winds in there for good measure. I have no idea what the current output is, but this thing looks amazing, let's hope it performs as well!!

Frank, I can't wait for you to finish that monster!! Man, that thing is going to be a beast!! I love the fact that you are trying to make it look a factory install! Anyone can stuff a V8 in an XJ, it takes a truely dedicated Jeeper to undertake what you have done!! Hat's off...

Thanks Kyle.
I'm getting ready to re-insert the rig into the birth canal (pushing it into the garage)after I get a few projects finished this weekend. There it will stay until I'm ready to start it up.
