Torn ACL and it hurts.
Of course it would have killed a lesser man.
Wish me luck, I am trying my first trip to unlevel ground this weekend. Rocky and I are fishing and drinking at Chinns Lake on Saturday and Sunday. We will see how the knee does. Probably going to need a lot of bourbon.

Do yourself a favor, and pick up a neoprene knee brace with the little flexible stabilzer bars on the sides. I preferr the ones with the knee cap hole, they stay where you put them better!! LOL!! I ran around for almost a year on a ruptured right ACL, partially torn MCL, and shredded medial miniscus, so I know what you're going through!! The knee brace will help both supporting the knee, and give you more confidence in it, while you're walking around. I know it sounds silly, but you really need that!! I had a full reconstruction done, and I still wear one when I do anything highly active. Once you get your ROM back, it will actually feel pretty good, even with a torn ACL!! The best rehab I have found is riding a bike. Even if it's a stationary bike on very low resistance, it will make your knee better faster than anything I have tried!! It will really help with the ROM, and you can adjust the seat higher or lower, depending on how much you want your knee to bend during a pedal stroke. I'm looking for a spin bike right now, so I see the older stationary bikes on CL all the time, for next to nothing. IDK, just trying to help, because I know exactly how bad it sucks!! LOL!! Good luck buddy!!

I have been living in my neoprene knee brace with the knee cap hole, beautiful piece of equipment. The nice thing about it is my ice pack with Velcro sticks to it. The bad thing is it makes me limp (my leg) and that just freaks my therapist out. She keeps harping on me to walk without a limp. It’s like having a wife again. The knee is getting better but there are days where it hurts like hell. I have been riding but its getting dark earlier and I have no trails by my house. I also have a fear of riding out and not being able to ride back because of my knee. So now it’s the trainer inside and that is very, very boring. This will be my first weekend off level ground and I plan on spending Saturday afternoon in a float tube. That should give it a workout.
Drive on up and I'll buy you a drink.

Went for a MTB ride after work today. It's about 8 miles RT. Got back to my jeep and noticed my saddle bag was open. Lost my keys to the Jeep and my cell phone.
.....and it was gona get dark in 20 mins.
I borrowed someone's cell to call my wife. She told me a woman had just called her and that she found my phone! All I had to do was ride the loop again and look for my keys.
Halfway through the loop, I saw a woman walking the trail. She told me she FOUND MY KEYS! but hung them on a post near the entrance lol. So I hauled a$$ and they were there. Wow, lucky! And I am tired as hell! G'night guys zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I would recommend going to college somewhere, anywhere regardless of the cost. In the long run, it will pay off.
Is that the answer you want?
