Four Corners BS thread!!
Medial Meniscus- torn in 2 places
ACL- blown
MCL- Torn, but not quite blown
Result, full rebuild on rt knee, and grips of rehab. It still sucks from time to time, and it is something I'll just have to live with. Moral of the story, life is dangerous, fawkin live it!! I just have to be very careful now, cause the knee is quite loose, and my meniscus will shift, and get out of place, that is when the suck comes!! I have figured out a way to get it popped back in, but it only works 80% of the time. I hope yours isn't as bad as mine Jordy!!

uuummmm, ouch!
well that was no fun at all. take care of your teeth kids!(dont drink coke!!)
back on workin on the jeep tonight....front is just about done. except, im ditching the y-link and going 4-link. (may be a min) the one time i got to wheel with the y-link, i hated it! i really dont like the unloading feeling, and it just feels like it binds everywhere.
new steering and trackbar are built, and paint is dry.
just gotta get the rear third member lincoln locked, and its ready to go in.
crossing my fingers that i run wheeler lake this weekend.

I am tryin to take the fam out of town for the long wknd. Not sure yet, and might not happen. If it doesn't, i'll let you know, and i'll run wheeler w/you.
Leaving for Ouray on Monday morning....I can't wait!! Should be back the following weekend. There are a load of really sweet trails out there! Nothing hard core, but the scenery will be EPIC!! Have fun at Wheeler, that place is sweet!!

Glad you are better! I try not to drink much soda, but i do (I like pepsi). I need to read more about the unloading.. I haven't noticed much of a difference when i went to a y link lol..

To me the unloading thing of Radius arm vs a 3 or 4 link is a joke since it does not matter if it's a y link or a 4 link when the front end gets lite either one is going to unload and let the axle drop and body lift...the solution is on a steep climb to just hook your winch line to the axle and as need spool it in to keep it from dropping out...aka SUCK DOWN WINCH . I'm going to put a small winch in the hatch are and cut through the floor and put on on the back as well B/C with them front and rear you can either pull 1 end down at a time or both to lower your center of gravity for a steep climb .

All of my research, plus personal experience confirms this....you gotta remember, I'm on xj number 30!....I also don't like the binding I'm getting from the y-link.
Remember, this is all my personal preference. Just stating I am changing my suspension setup.

I have to disagree with ya 1 ton. I have run 3 and 4 link long arms, and they DO NOT unload like a Y-link. At least not as easy. I prefer the feel of a true 4link. Weather you think so or not, they handle completly different.

I would only change my set up to get 4 links holding the axle to the truck for strengh nothing else ...After talking to Clayton they said they do not see any difference between the 3 link-4-link-Y-link as far flex ...only strengh due to more arms holding the axle on , And Clayton sells all 3 types , So he has nothing to gain by being less than truthfull , And it's cheap to upgrade from y-link to 3 or 4 link with Claytons ...As for unloading I'd have to say I can't see how adding a 3rd link or 4 th link that swings down just like the lower set of links do ...could possibly unload any differently or atleast in any appreciable way ...basicly if y-link is unloading so is a 3 or 4-link...otherwise it would be binding not allowing drop out ...I have zero issues with binding on my Radius arm set up I can un hook my shocks and watch that axle go to the floor only limited by steering at that point on the pass side and my shock already have 11 inches od drop out in them so I don't think bind is an issue in the y-link .
and my statement comes straight from conversation Clayton's offroad the Man who pioneered the Long arm system for the Cherokees and Grands going on about 1.5 decades ago , and continues to be one of the most respected names in Suspension ...So my statements are based on that .
Anyone who ran Chinamans with me Sunday the 21ts can chime in on the Flex of my front end y-link I don't think ypu'll find anyone who could honestly say it had any binding issues ...lol

I'm not here to argue with you. Just stated why I'm changing and my personal experience.
Just cuz clayton says something, doesn't mean its right for everyone.....hence the reason he sells all three types. I know the way they all feel, and I like 4link over y-link after running both. There is no arguing that.
I'm not here to puff my chest out bro......hint, hint.
