Serious..
It was kind of a spur of the moment thing.
I was thinking of getting something a lil nicer to drive, and newer, so I threw it up on CL and the first guy to come look at it, bought it. I didn't negotiate $1 dollar, but he got a good deal.
I think I'm going to get a zj or wj..

It's going to take some time to get anything you get back up to par with how your XJ handled trails!!! I had a lifted ZJ for awhile, and they are nice, and flex like mad!! Are you considering a V8??

96-98 zj 5.2
3" lift
31s or 32s
Armor underneath & recovery (no bumpers tho)
locked rear and/or maybe f/r
Or..
99-01 wj 4.7
2" lift
265/75 (32x10)
Armor underneath & recovery (no bumpers)
locked rear and/or mabye f/r
Basically, the highest lift I can do w/out opening the can of worms.. Prob some lower control arms, but no SYE, custom driveshafts, etc.. I'm thinking the rear coils will flex great, and give a better ride. My xj was a lil tank lol..
I like the wj because it has a better steering setup from factory and longer control arms.. but I like the zj's size better and would probably be easier to work on. Not to mention cheaper.
Thoughts guys?

I traded it in when we bought a truck in 2003. I had another Jeep, an 89 XJ, and we needed the money for the down payment. I still miss the ZJ from time to time, but it was nowhere near as capable as mt current XJ. It was a 95, 5.2, AWD Limited model, with a 3" SkyJacker stage one kit, and pucks. Upgrades would have had to be dang near everything. D35 in the rear, CV joints in the D30 front, AWD POS 249 t-case, that I did have to replce at one point, and the list goes on and on. I had to have the tranny rebuilt too, just like every other ZJ owner I know, V8, 4.0, either one!!
