So I gotta D60 up front and the first thing I notice is I've seen diff fluid leak out the sides onto the tire walls. So I filled it up and then notice it would leak out where the drive shaft slides in. So I grab the drive shaft, and find out I can slide it in and out a little bit, maybe roughly an inch. Is that normal? When it sets over night, I'll come out and it will have a little puddle under the axle somewhere. So aside from it definitely leaking, whats up with the drive shaft?

You have a Dana 60? In what? Pinion seal and outer axle seals are leaking sounds like you need bearings too

If your leaking from the drive shaft yoke, you put in way to much fluid. If your leaking by your tires, you put in to much fluid and the seals are shot. Replacethe seals and don't over fill it.

Not necessarily. It will leak with the normal amount of fluid from both locations as well especially if seals are bad if they were too full the vent tube could have some in it too
