I just got back it was super crowded both the trails and the shooting area. Only one xj other than mine up there but tons of Jeeps. We can plan a day to go up when it will work best for all of us.

I should take a look at the chains I've been carrying around all winter. Never actually seen them, bag they're in has never been open but it says it fits 31/10.5s

What is everyone else's opinion about style of chains? And do y'all prefer, front, rear, or all fours?
I say if you have the money all 4, but if you can only buy a set and use them on the front. You want your front to pull you threw the snow/ice. Verse if there on the rear there going to try and push.

I stick to chain for offroad.
I got them for all four. Because 4 is better then 2 and I set aside extra money. If you only have two, I would put them on the back.... Specifically because with my front wheeling turning and flexing, the chains would hit and rip my body up. My front axle does most of the flexing, whereas my rear still has a sway bar and rarely, if ever, hits
even on road, I'd still have them on the back so my rear end doesn't slide out
Anyone have a set of 3.73 gears for a D30 and/or 8.25 axles? I need to regear my jeep before I drive it out here over the summer. I don't like the way 3.07s and 31 handle long hills, and there are quite a few on the drive out here. I am in boulder, so I can meet anyone just about anywhere in the denver area. If you have anything please PM me with a price. I don't have a lot, but I'll try to be reasonable.
or, does anyone know a good junkyard to look for a set at?

Back from Sevenmile, couldn't do the whole trail. Two long spots were iced over, second one was at too much of an angle, i just slid right off. Couldn't be bothered to try putting the chains on.
Yes i had my swaybar, didn't have a wrench big enough.

First icy part, it was kinda slushy so i did fine

The part i almost slid into the creek at

But I figured I'd rather have them. Yeah I will most likely go bigger and then need new chains but I'm not sure when that is and these 31's are doing just fine for now
