I've been planning to get the Smittybilt myself, so I think that would be an acceptable substitution. But only you can decide. If you plan to get stuck in the upcoming snow having the winch sooner rather than later would be my recommendation. Otherwise just wait for the one you wanted.

Then there is the argument over winch line. I know I am due for some new line.

I'm getting synthetic rope because it comes in yellow. Steel rope only comes in ugly gray.

yeah.. smitty has good reviews and is a good substitution. i still like the engo better myself though, and i've already cancelled my order. might re-order, or might just get the smitty.

i don't have a lot of winch experience, so i'm getting the synthetic for safety. has it's pros/cons, but i also like it for the weight factor.

Was the Smittybilt included in the shootout?

I prefer synthetic unless you are going to abuse it.

So guys I need some new shocks bad... Idk what size lift I have exactly and wanna run the longest shock possible. I am going to do hockey puck bumpstops, so how will I measure to determine my shock length to achieve the most down travel

if u can flex out on jeremys tire and measure your max compression, and bumpstop accordingly. then find the shock that will collapse as close to that as possible, and find the longest extended length you can.

currently, on 2.5" up front, i'm running 11" travel shocks. 1/2" bumpstopped from max collapse.

Where did you find an xrc8 comp for this price, I may want to buy one soon and that's $25 cheaper than I've found.
