That's awesome. Did anyone see the rat rod on like 31" KM2s? I LOVED it, and I think it'd be really sweet to do something similar with a cherokee... Like exactly what that pic shows. Get a cherokee, paint it camo, slap on some big tires and some offroad-y wheels, slam it on it's nuts and cruise around... I haven't ever been a HUGE muscle car guy but I really did kinda dig the rat rod stuff, and that pic just reminds me of the rod I saw with KM2s..... *don't need another project... Don't need another project.... Don't need another project....*
OH! And the original reason I came to post anyway.... Those up north (or just wanting to wheel), as far as next weekend, I just remembered that my Saturday is gonna be busy doing CSUnity. I've never done it before but probably not best to schedule a trip for the afternoon. So if you guys wanna put forth effort into hitting a trail that's open, or might be open, I'd prefer to go on Sunday.... That's kinda where I'm at now, but my schedule's constantly changing. Sunday'd work the best I THINK, but if it doesn't work for you guys, not a problem in the slightest!
Also, I guess I should ask, is anyone up north / local familiar with doing a SYE? My kit should be in my possession well before next weekend, and if that's the case, maybe saturday night we could take a crack at doing my SYE, skid install, etc. etc.? I don't have a DS yet, but if this builds momentum, I can find a DS I'm sure, just gotta look up what I need again (I think Seth said a front DS out of a newer body style cherokee works as the new rear shaft?)... Anyway, sorry for the long post. Back to studying!

Hmmmmmmm, devilishly tempting.... If I'm being honest I don't know if I'm quite "ready" for that yet. I'm sure I'd be fine, especially with experienced people, but my extent of climbing has ONLY been gym bouldering, top rope, sport and lead up to this point. I have 2 pairs of shoes, a harness, some beaners, ATC, and a v1 grigri, so my gear collection's lacking. I'm hoping to work a lot this summer so the trips will probably be limited to bacon express and some weekends camping, which I'm fine with. My current situation has limiting logistics like $$, how to get out there, $$, time off work, $$, etc. etc. lol. If you have details, I'd like to hear (just send me one PM from the sportbike thread and here and such). I'm always considering trips but I dunno if I'm going to be ready or willing to hit Zion and or Moab. Though I'm immensely jealous and who knows, it MAY happen haha...
New is just fine man, see my comment above, I have been climbing about 2 years on and off cause of injury and I still haven't gone outside even to do any bouldering. I'm a gym rat. Depending on my strength when I return, we might be on par, and I can try to help you train and develop what kind of climbing you enjoy. And if I can't help, I'm sure I know at least a few people who probably can. As for the "team," I consider us a team but the school doesn't, YET. A handful of CSU climbers, myself included, decided CSU needed a team (last school in the state to organize one), so we set it up. We're a "student organization" right now because we have to technically be a student org for a year before we can make a presentation to the school to become a "team." If we become a team (which shouldn't be an issue) then we'll get school funding for tournament entry fees, CCS dues, travel expenses, etc. etc. Compared to other "teams," our costs are pretty low. Right now we collect dues and do some fundraising to try and pay for most of what we do. I don't have rope either, but I know some people who do lol... CSU also rents out pretty much anything and everything at very fair prices. We'll have to meet up and climb carter or horsetooth and what not when things mellow out.
Alright thanks, I have a 2000 and it seems to run fine. I suspect I have some heat soak issues and some minor searching revealed the 2000 is prone to heat soak issues. I may hit you up still though, right now I'm swamped with school work. I'll try to check back tomorrow
Didn't know they had a climbing team haha that's cool! Pretty new to the whole climbing scene though...I've gone to gyms before and gone outdoors but don't really know anyone around here that likes climbing enough to go. I don't have rope either haha, stuff is expensive.
And no problem man, will do.

I don't know if there's any official places to climb that require some wheeling to get to just cause they try to make it accessible to many, so parking close / hiking is usually all that's needed. However, the aforementioned Bald Mountain trail, when I spit out at the top there was a huge clearing with some big rock outcrops, I remember wishing I had some shoes. Not large enough to need ropes, but if I remember, it would have been fun bouldering. I haven't been to the wall here in like 2+ months
if your interested in joining I can give you info or if you see a guy named Nick working at the wall, he's our president and can fill you in.

I'd come if you were in fort collins. I don't think I've ever had jamba juice, but right now ANYTHING sounds appetizing... Like gnawing on the leg of a table or something....... **THAW FASTER FIENDISH CHICKEN BREAST**
