Thanks, didn't expect any compliments on how it looks, it looks like crap. It is a 10 footer....looks good from 10 feet away, once you get closer it don't look good. It needs paint, and that is the better side lol. Gotta trim fenders, and a few other things before it is trail ready.

Okay, I have had a terribly noisy belt. Replaced the power steering pump (accidently broke the half the pulley off and the rest wouldn't come off the pump) didn't fix the noise. Every time i put some soap on it, it stops for a bit. Get's really bad when I accelerate. So does that belt dressing stuff work? is it bad for the belt?

The reason a belt is noisy is because it is slipping, and trying to grip the pulleys.(think tire screeching noise when it is spinning on pavement) putting soap or wd40 or anything else for that matter on a belt only makes it slip worse. The reason the noise goes away is because now it slips so much it is not trying to grip the pulleys.
Belt dressing only works temporarily. It leaves a sticky film on the belt(and everything else when it flings off) to help it grip the pulleys better.
Depending on how bad the belt is, it may not help at all.
You are best just to get a new belt, make sure it is the correct length, clean the pulleys, make sure tension is adequate, and you will be happy.

You probably need to line up your Pwr steering pump pulley to your other accessories. If it is not straight it will make noise with the belt on the idler or fan pulley's smooth surface. From the drivers fender look down the belt as it goes around the other pulleys and see if it is aligned to the pwr steering pulley. That's what mine was doing. I had to get the lend a tool again and line it up better. It won't really hurt the belt unless you drive it like that for a long time. It is just trying to run off the smooth pulley's and then gets pulled back to center from the tension on the belt. So, it is like running your hand on the kitchen counter, making that squealing sound. So, if it is crooked, go get the loaner tool from the auto parts store and put it on a little farther or pull it out a little. If you don't use that tool you will break the pulley. It has that ridge on the pulley snout that is for installing and removing it.
Sorry for over explaining all this. lol I am up late and bored. lol!
