hey rocket mouse and bugout 4x4, where in N AZ? I'm a newbie in Prescott and have been looking for some guys to get out with. We were was in Flag yesterday, at the lava river cave. I'm just now starting to get to the point of lifting my stock 2000 GC 4.7 . Want to go up 3 inches but not sure what suspension mods I'll have to make. only going with a slightly taller tire, because I'm not willing to cut the fenders. I'm now wearing 245/70 and think my only choice for a taller tire is a 250/70. Not even sure what brand or model yet. I need to put in recovery corners and a couple of pieces of protection under the rig yet. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Take a trip to Crown King via Senator Highway during the week.
Make the loop from Lynx Lake to Groom Creek.

I just went and took a look at that, pretty country! I see Walker Rd south to E Bald Mountain over to Spruce Mountain, is that the route you are sharing? Do you know if the road west from Lynx lake over to Seven Mile Tank goes all the way through? That looks like a very interesting drive over the hill there too. :)

I see you mention during the week, Busy on the weekends I presume? :)

Assholes on UTVs on the weekend. I don't really wheel like I used to. They've closed a lot of roads we used to go on. Check out 52B off Senator Highway.

For sure! I think I told you my Daughter and Son in law live in north Phoenix. We don't get down there very often lately because of life challenges up here. But every time we do we take different routes just to check out areas of Az we have not been to yet and camp along the way. A loop through your area and Sedona will definitely be the next route we take first chance we get when emergencies finally slow down here. Been looking forward to seeing your area again ever since Dad took us up through Jerome when I was about 6! lol

Love to meet and catch up with you Pete! :)

Hi Cruiser54, good to hear from you. I'm semi-retired, only detail cars now p/t. And with the possibility of rain later this week, so far nothing going on this week. I've never been to Crown King, but it's on our to-do list. Right now I probably need better tires for that trip. But maybe we could meet some time. When you planning on going to Crown King?

cruiser54 08-06-2018 07:09 AM

I'm not planning to. I've got too many projects going on.

LOL cruiser... don't hold back.. tell us how you really feel :)

I see lots of them on the weekends headed down towards Clint's Well/Payson on Lake Mary Rd. Don't know where they all go off in the bushes somewhere, but the cost of those things they definitely have more money than sense, that's for sure.

Hey man... Just been busy as hell here and on the road. I don't log in here with my phone so I have to wait until I land and get the chance to get on the laptop. :)

I am worried about stealthy too. He was recovering from a heart attack not long before he stopped posting. I truly hope he did not have more complications...

yeah.. he had that right around the same time I had my cardio issue earlier this year.
Definitely sending prayers his way that his health is good but just too busy to login for a bit here. :)

I might have his email, I will check... Man I hate when this happens... People I made friends with on the net just up and disappearing without a word has been one of my only issues with the Internet for years now. I know a lot of folks who just stopped making friends because of it, and not just on the net, once they become introverted it carries off into their daily physical relationships also.

Not much happening but responsibilities that limit my time. So not much to share in common right now I guess. Doesn't help you go and run off for a week or more at a time... lmao :)

The election is important right now... But the 3 candidate run is bumming me out because we are going to screw ourselves I'm afraid. If we get a blue Senator, get ready for a serious upheaval in Az as soon as they back an unconstitutional antigun measure of ANY kind. Even McCain wasn't dumb enough to do that because he knew what would happen.

Me MIA for a week or so at a time?..... talk to my boss about that... lmao.

Yeah... well if they get a fresh (green) idiot of the blue variety... they won't know what hit them if they try that kind of a stunt in AZ. Now mind you I'm devote Christian... but even in CO where I'm orig. from... if anyone would've tried that.. It would've been the ole phrase of "You can have my guns, bullets first". or "out of my cold dead hands".
Lots of things are going on globally right now and have been for a bit too... and if society as a whole doesn't wake up, I have a feeling I know what's in store.

I was just messing my friend. :) Isn't there a break coming up?

Well we got McSally, we have to keep an eye on her, and Doug gets to appoint one. Hope he messes with everyone and appoints Arpaio for the rest of the term. Just to throw everyone for an unexpected loop. lol

I know you were... didn't you know that one of the several languages I speak fluently is Sarcasm? :D
Just had a few days of sun here in Flag, so gave the Jeep a little rest and took the motorcycle to work for a few days which was a nice for a change.

Wouldn't you know it... I'm having that same stupid issue with the Jeep... but it's not as bad as before I pulled the TB cleaned it and the IAC valve... but it's still there just for a minute or two after start up... whether the engine is warm or cold. I know... 3 things to smooth running... correct air, spark, and fuel. I often run an injector cleaner to help keep them spraying correctly. Haven't pulled them to actually check though. And honestly don't know how old the plug wires are, but if that were the issue, don't you think it would be an issue anytime the motor is running.. not just at start up? Just curious. :)

Hey man... I truly apologize for losing this reply... I hate how once you read something in the new posts list it removes them from the list and makes it easy to lose track of replies you need to "come back later" and reply back to. Did you figure this issue out?

Related to your expertise and experience... You might find humor in my fears here... lol

I put this vvvv in that other thread too...
By this point in my career, I'm fairly certain that I have at least one dedicated satellite.... lol... but I also use other things to cover my tracks too. If you just use TOR by itself they can't see what you're visiting, but can tell your entry point and know you're using it.
Does that translate directly into having your own personal satellite or black vans? I doubt it. lol. but you never know with the g-o-v. :)

As for the other issue with the Jeep... nope.. still there. Don't know what it is yet. I haven't started replacing any parts yet. But if I do, I think first thing would be new rotor and cap, wires and new plugs. *I forget which ones for the cap/wires, and what plugs people say they have really good luck with in the XJ. I just remember the plugs being basic ones, none of that split-fire stuff.
And I'll have to get creative for how to get the one out of the front most cyl. as the stupid heater hoses are right over it...and don't want to take that off unless it's absolutely necessary.

RocketMouse 09-11-2018 01:06 AM

damn... nothing from stealthy eh?
He really seemed into the Jeep scene here... I just hope he's okay.

I hadn't seen you in awhile so that's what I figured. Everyone is busy right now while the weather is good. :)

I just remembered last night that I might have a source to find something about Stealthy. One time he shared a survival website where he was a long time respected member. I will have to see if I still have that in my PM's from him or can search it out online. It just bugs me when this happens and I have to try.

I agree... and I feel even closer to the situation and our friend since I went through something similar and if I had not caught the precursors in time, the same thing could've happened to me.
I'm still dealing with it, but Still this side of the dirt and fighting.
Definitely let me know if you find anything out on Stealthy... maybe he bugged out and went "off grid" on us.
Like you, I just hope that he's okay and has just been taking a break from the site for a while.
Let me know what you find! :)
