nope, not quite. I'm new to this one but i have been on a plethora of other az sites for years...

bsflipfrontflip 09-29-2009 03:08 PM

have you been to virtual jeep yet?

Tankerblade 09-30-2009 10:30 PM

im here and kicking

bsflipfrontflip 09-30-2009 11:34 PM

alright so we got a party of three

nasonguy 10-01-2009 10:40 AM

Make that four.

I'm in Tucson.

Stock jeep, no sway bars though, so pretty capable. No sway bars also means slow highway driving, hehe.

bsflipfrontflip 10-01-2009 03:58 PM

nice i am in Gilbert

Killerloop102 10-03-2009 04:08 PM

Well make that a party of five. And I'm also from G-Town. Only thing is my front driveshaft is out and I either A) Go to pick-a-part and buy one. or B) Buy the replacement kit and get it fixed. what do you guys think i'm kind of leaning on just getting one from pick-a-part.

bsflipfrontflip 10-03-2009 06:42 PM

i would just go to pick a part

AZ_XJ 10-04-2009 04:27 PM

I'm in AZ too. North Valley.

Tankerblade 10-04-2009 06:39 PM

well why dont we get together and go play in the dirt?

bsflipfrontflip 10-04-2009 09:35 PM

Yeah that would be some fun what some good trails you guys know of i do a lot of wheeling outside of of superior and Florence. There some real good trails out there

Killerloop102 10-05-2009 01:43 AM

I like around souargo lake yes i know spelled that wrong. found a cool trail that goes down by the water and your surrounded by bamboo its very little but fun to get back there and go through. We should definetly get together maybe if plan some wrench parties or mod parties. Just a suggestion.

Tankerblade 10-05-2009 09:02 AM

i usually go out to queen valley or the rim. but if you guys think a stocker can make it, lets tackle it

nasonguy 10-05-2009 10:36 AM

I guess I'm the only one this far south huh?

bsflipfrontflip 10-05-2009 02:58 PM

yeah that sound good but for sure we got to do a wheeling trip. How hard of trails do you guys like to do

nasonguy 10-05-2009 03:05 PM

I'm down for anything a stocker can negotiate, although I like to try harder stuff just to see if I can make it. Kinda a dumb thing to do since I don't have any recovery points... >_<...

Killerloop102 10-05-2009 04:56 PM

Down for anything really. I just got to get that front driveshaft in like i was saying before, i'll try anything but not too big. Plus mines a daily driver so cain't have to much damage.

cw50must 10-05-2009 07:06 PM

I'm here. :)

bsflipfrontflip 10-05-2009 07:12 PM

I am in the same boat mine is a DD so i cant beat it up too much but a friend of mine that i wheel with has a REALLY well built YJ that can handle almost anything so he can pull us out of any mess we get into. i also go wheeling a a lot in queen valley area mostly on the other side of the 60 though Tankerblade. well its not a problem for me to go all over the state to go wheeling i enjoy going around to different places:thumbup:. but as far as difficulty goes i think that the stock Cherokee can handle most of them. its just those one or two places were that big rock is and you don't have as much clearance as you should but its not going to kill the jeep. Just kinda need a rating system but we might want to start off with a easier trail to see what we are all comfortable with.

Tankerblade 10-05-2009 08:52 PM

hey i just got my rig and am just starting to explore, as long as its easy enough a stocker 2wd could try, without too much damage andis a challenge i'm up for it.

bsflipfrontflip 10-05-2009 09:05 PM

well i looks like most of our rigs are pretty capable to do some pretty good trails. Wait tankerblade yours is a 2wd drive? That can make things interesting.

bsflipfrontflip 10-05-2009 09:09 PM

When are you guys open to go out i am open almost every weekend and have nothing to do next week.

Tankerblade 10-05-2009 09:55 PM

ya unfortunately i got the only soccermom cherokee within a 50mile range  not really, but i agree it should be interesting, but i also have a limited slip, so should do somewhat ok.

im open all of next week also, and free some weekends when im not doing training for search and rescue

bsflipfrontflip 10-05-2009 10:02 PM

well does anyone have a particular trail they want to do?

Tankerblade 10-05-2009 10:31 PM

im ready for something new, i think you should pick one or throw some out there that you know of since your heading this haha :thumbup1:

bsflipfrontflip 10-05-2009 11:23 PM

OK um i have done the back way to crown king, Montana Mountain, Box canyon, Martinez Cabin, Highway to Hell, Ajax, Telegraph mine road, a little of Martinez canyon, done some of the trails near Mund's park, and some trail out near saguaro in butcher Jones. I want to do the moss mason i think thats what its call thats out west but thats supposed to be a harder trail. I would like to keep it in the warmer areas i don't have my doors on right now and i am kinda a girl when it comes to the cold. Those are all good trails. Some are more difficult and some are a bit easier but have so forks that have some ruff stuff.

cw50must 10-06-2009 08:28 AM

You guys with stockers really should get a Bull Dog Canyon Permit and hit up that trail. It is perfect for stockers and is very close if you live in the east valley.

Tankerblade 10-06-2009 08:38 AM

cw50 whats the bull dog canyon permit all about?

bsfipfrontflip any of the trails you listed kinda senic in any way?

cw50must 10-06-2009 02:45 PM

Bull Dog runs from bush hwy to about mckellips in Apache Junction.
There are alos entrances on Ellsworth and Idaho/88.

Its a nice easy run that is still has some challenges. I've run it many times, even in my truck a few times.

There are locked gates at all the entrances so you need to get a permit with the gate codes at the Tonto ranger station in Mesa, the permit is free.

bsflipfrontflip 10-06-2009 03:07 PM

those are all senic

Tankerblade 10-06-2009 05:21 PM

well i say someone buck up and make a decision. dont matter to me

bsflipfrontflip 10-06-2009 06:18 PM

well who all wants to go?

nasonguy 10-06-2009 06:31 PM

Any of them within a 2 hour drive of Tucson???

I'm down for driving on the highway, just can't go much faster than 65ish... Or I could stop being a weinnie and buy some discos and enjoy highway driving again...

Tankerblade 10-06-2009 06:33 PM

im in.

nason i think you should stop being a wheenie and be a man :P and get some discos haha

nasonguy 10-06-2009 06:44 PM

I need to get a non weenie amount of money then, haha. Maybe I'll make my own, actually, I think I will...

Sweet backyard rig-hacking!

I keep asking this!
ARE ANY OF THE TRAILS WITHIN 2 HOURS OF TUCSON!!!!!!

Reason being I only have Saturdays free! I'm out late Friday night (read... little sleep) and have to wake up early early early on Sunday (read... get to bed early on Saturday, like 8 oclock early). I can only do relatively close, one day trails....

bsflipfrontflip 10-06-2009 07:22 PM

all of the trails i listed earlier would be within 2 hours of you except the muds park and crown king. i Think that box canyon would be a good one to do its a pretty quick trail and it ends right at the river bottom saloon so we can pick up some grub after wheeling:chef:

Tankerblade 10-06-2009 07:34 PM

Box canyon works for me! :thumbup1: lets do it!
