I talked to the guy in Buhl that has the XJ. He does have a front axle and assembly (probably a D30 high pinion. He also has headlight buckets. He is going to get back to me next week with prices.
Okay, I will call him again with that proposal. I know he wants the engine so it would have to be removed plus anything else he might want. The tranny and TC are still there. The rear axle is gone, the doors, rear hatch, steering wheel and other misc parts.
Gary, do you have the wherewithal to remove the engine in the field? An engine hoist could possibly be rented locally. I am willing to help you if this becomes a reality.

I have a hoist (if I can 'borrow it back') and a trailer to haul the remains. Would have to winch it on the trailer. Makes more sense to me to take just the front diff and stuff we need but that's the son-in-law's call and we rarely have the same view.
I'll try to pin him down today and let you know.

Rear leafs, all shocks, front springs, and tires... basically just the lifts... I needed the 4 door to be shorter for a family rig... Wish i had a better axle to put under the tan one

This is a vid I put together of our snow run in the South Hills on New Years day. This is my first attempt at doing videos. Hopefully they will improve (no place to go but up).
The day was a blast. It took us about 10 hours to do a 35 mile loop. About half that was in deep snow. The weather was near perfect.
